SC3: Glass Photonics: Novel Systems and Ongoing Applications
Organized by Dr. Anna Łukowiak (Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research, PAS) and
Dr. Maurizio Ferrari (IFN-CNR CSMFO Lab.)
Session's Information:
Glass Photonics represents the technological pillar of a huge number of photonic applications covering Health and Biology, Structural Engineering, Environment Monitoring Systems, Lighting, Laser sources or Quantum Technologies. The aim of the session “Glass Photonics: Novel Systems and Ongoing Applications” is to have a broad spectrum of robust presentations highlighting the novel outcomes of Glass Photonics in the aforementioned scientific and technological areas. What is expected is to promote the optimal conditions for a multidisciplinary and synergic event where glass-based photonic systems, materials, structures, and devices are discussed. We await for communications looking at Glass Photonics ongoing applications and immediate and long-term solutions that are considered necessary for the society wellness. Research concerning but not limited to fibers, integrated systems, waveguides, resonators, nanostructures, glass-ceramics, colloids, functionalized glasses, luminescent structures, up-down converters, light sources, and photons management are welcome in this session.
