Curriculum of Tran Thi Ngoc Lam

Dr. Thi Ngoc Lam Tran is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Photonics and Nanotechnologies Trento - National Research Council (IFN-CNR Trento) in Italy. In 2019 she received her PhD degree with a research topic on “tin dioxide-based photonic glass-ceramics” at University of Trento in collaboration with IFN-CNR Trento.

Her main scientific area of research is synthesis, fabrication and assessment of photonic structures using rare-earth activated oxide semiconductors and transparent glass-ceramics for integrated photonic devices and sensors. Since 2016, she developed RE-doped tin dioxide nanocrystals – based transparent glass-ceramic systems which uniquely combine efficient RE host-senstization and high photorefractivity (UV-induced index modification in the order of 10-3). These systems can lead to applications for low threshold light sources and integrated photonic devices that can be fabricated by direct UV writing.

She is author of 11 scientific articles on international reviews (ISI-JCR), 13 publications in proceedings of national and international conferences, 40 communications at national and international congress, and 3 Book chapters. Her bibliometric parameters are: H-index 6 ; Total times cited 95 [03/12/2021-Web of Science ID L-5134-2019].
